adidas Powerphase OG

The adidas Powerphase first launched in 1987 when working out was all the rage and ‘all white’ gym trainers ruled the sneaker world.

We last saw the adidas Powerphase sneaker when it was re-introduced as part of a special collaboration between the leading sneaker label, adidas and Kanye West. The forty-one-year-old YEEZY curator and entrepreneur previewed the fitness shoe back in 2016 as part of his season six collection, a sophisticated silhouette, the original Powerphase trainer came in the form of a buttery soft upper, a gold foiled ‘Calabasas’ logo and iconic adidas embroidery. However, it was not long for the gym style trainer to be likened to the Rebook Workout and at almost half the price, the sneaker head community was left divided. Since then the Powerphase sneaker has long been forgotten; however adidas have now turned to the archives once again to re-ignite the classic fitness silhouette.
