adidas team up with C.P. Company with their new Kamanda trainer as well as the iconic Mille Miglia ‘Explorer’ Goggle Jacket.
If you’re reading this, you are probably just as excited as we are to hear the news of the adidas x C.P. Company collaboration. Either long overdue or just something that needed to happen, its every casual collectors dream come true. A collaboration that people will be talking about for years to come, and we may also add, one that doesn’t come along too often.
Massimo Osti’s sportswear brands like Stone Island & C.P. Company have become legendary stuff in certain circles with a mutual love for outerwear that has more clout than your average. The iconic Mille Miglia actually took its design from Japanese military apparel, unlike the prestigious Italian road race (like a lot of people seem to think). Over the years we have seen a variety of different C.P. Company concepts, however its the famous ‘Goggle Jacket’ that will always rule the roost regardless.
For 2018, the legendary military inspired piece is now given the 3 stripes treatment with a very special adidas collaboration. The adidas x C.P. Company Mille Miglia features 2 utility pockets to the front (as seen on other goggle jackets from the current season) in a vibrant garment dyed red/orange colourway. Constructed from a high performance Nyfoil fabric which also features water resistant and quick dry function. The jacket also features the signature ‘Mille Miglia’ Explorer goggles to the hood, which Osti first introduced back in 1988, inspired from a hood worn by the Japanese Civil Defense. The key feature being to completely cover and mask the face with the intersecting hood and goggle function. There is also the addition of the famous ‘Watch Viewer’ lens to the sleeve, with added time keeping function and collaboration branding.
And if thats not quite enough for you, the collaboration will also see a very special adidas x C.P. Company Kamanda trainer, a brand new style to the 3 stripes catalogue. Features include an almost Iniki like concept, where classic meets modern, with suede and leather uppers and a track inspired sole unit as well as the famous ‘ghillie lacing system’ we also saw on the likes of the Trimm Star trainer.
The actual release dates are not yet known for the adidas x C.P. Company collaboration, however stay tuned at RC and we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
