adidas Celebrate The Golden Era Of Hip Hop With United Arrows & Sons
The adidas x United Arrow & Sons AW18 drop looks back to the Bronx, B-boys and break dancing for collection of original 80s hip hop nostalgia.
Like any other subculture, hip hop first started with the music which gave a new voice to the youth of the city. New York City became the epicenter of the hip hop movement with B-boy crews, graffiti artists and turntable DJ’s that would start a new wave of electronic music that would go on to become one of the most celebrated styles on the entire planet. Hip hop may sound a million miles away from its original B-boy sound nowadays, but its influences still remain as strong as ever with adidas Originals and United Arrows & Sons now looking back to the golden era of hip hop for their latest AW18 drop.
adidas was of course a key player in the original hip hop movement with the trefoil logo as iconic as the subculture itself. For the collaboration the trefoil is re-imagined courtesy of the graffiti artist, WANTO, with a NYC subway graffiti feel, the trefoil is used throughout the entire collection. Classic hip hop sneaker styles like the Ultra Star & Rivalry Lo have been updated for the drop with features like a snakeskin print on the Rivalry Lo and of course the signature shell toe on the Ultra Star.
On the apparel side of the drop its strictly old skool style graff’ printed across varsity jackets, tracksuits and tees, with NYC skyline graphics, collaboration branding, plenty of 3 stripes and updated modern fits.
The adidas x United Arrows & Sons AW18 collection will be launching from adidas.co.uk on Saturday 25th August 2018. In other recent adi’ news you can also check out every item dropping from the forthcoming adidas x C.P. Company 2018 collaboration.
