The BAPE SS18 collection shows us why the Japanese streetwear brand are still at the top of their game.

The Japan-based streetwear brand celebrates the new year with a mix of classic and new designs. Counting down to the commencement of 2018, BAPE is blessing us with an early glimpse of the warmer months with the lookbook for its latest SS18 collection. The arsenal of products features the brand’s signature camouflage prints and the iconic ape motif, at the same time freshens the look with an updated version of BAPE’s well-known shark graphic.

The Japanese label hasn’t restrained its bold use of brighter hue in this capsule. Fresh choices of colours, such as hot pink and fluorescent yellow, offer the vibrancy synonymous to the upcoming seasons and a flashback to the late 90’s vibrant sportswear aesthetic. A great variety of apparels are delivered in this lineup, including a “Crew” padded jacket, a military green camouflage print kimono, souvenir jackets and shark hoodies. Other highlights include a military camo smock jacket and a shark hood mask following on trend with the mask craze we have been experiencing on the global streetwear scene over the last few years.
