Chase & Status team up with the UK grime MC Kano on their latest album ‘Tribe’.
Following on from the London Bars EP released in 2015, Saul Milton and Will Kennard aka Chase & Status are back with their next studio album. ‘Tribe’ explores different genres from their euphoric festival D’n’B sound through to the new wave of grime and garage music. The new material features a variety of collaborations from UK garage veteran Craig David to new grime talent such as Bugsy Malone to the highly respected UK Jungle producer Shy FX. The Drum & Bass tracks featured such as ‘Step Away’, ‘All Goes Wrong’ and ‘Tribute’ take us back to the old school Chase & Status sound, which brought them to the attention of the electronic music world in the beginning. The album also features collaborations with Emeli Sandé on ‘Love Me More’ which will no doubt be the biggest ‘commercial’ track on the album alongside electronic rock tracks with the punk duo The Slaves.
‘Dubplate Original’ sees the electronic duo teaming up with the UK grime MC, Kano. Kano has been involved in the grime scene since the very beginning from the famous ‘Lord of the mics’ battle with Wiley from the early noughties and tracks like ‘Ps and Qs’ from 2004. Following on from his last studio album ‘Made in the Manor’ released last year and live performances at this years Glastonbury Festival, Kano has now teamed up on the track ‘Dubplate’ original with Chase & Status on their latest album ‘Tribe’.
