The Man Utd x adidas Newton Heath trainer celebrates the original location of the world famous Manchester club as well as the ‘Red Devils’ 140th anniversary.

If you have ever visited Manchester you will know how important football is to the region and how passionate people are in the Northern city. Two clubs dominate the city, red and blue, or United and City. Although the current location of the ‘Red Devils’ home maybe located in Trafford, Greater Manchester, the club was actually started in Newton Heath, Manchester back in 1878. Die hard United fans may remember the iconic green and yellow away shirt from 1992 as worn by United legends such as Eric Cantona and Ryan Giggs, drawing inspiration from the original kit colours of Newton Heath. Newton Heath was also planned to be the home of Manchester United‘s very own supporters club, FC United of Manchester, however due to issues with government funding the ‘anti Glaziers’ club now play at Moston.

Drawing inspiration from the North Manchester’s original yellow and green kit, the trainer features green suede uppers with gold trefoil branding and ‘Newton Heath’ branded laces.
