The Nike Air Max Plus TN Trainer Will Be Dropping In Hyperblue
The Nike Air Max Plus TN Hyperblue trainer revives the original Sean McDowell silhouette which started its life on a Florida beach.
When we think of Nike Air Max designers, the likes of Tinker Hatfield and Sergio Lozano roll off the tongue, however the original designer of the Air Max Plus TN trainer, Sean McDowell, is just as influential to the Air Max legacy throughout the 90s as any. Upon arrival at Nike in 1997, McDowell set about to create the Air Max Plus or TN as it has become known in some sneaker circles, with inspiration from the beaches of Florida, the changing colour of the sky and the palm trees.

Aesthetically the Air Max Plus was designed with running in mind as well as performance, however like other Air Max models it would soon become a favourite of late 90s sneaker heads with its original global release in 1998. As a keen runner McDowell already knew certain functions like adding reflectivity at the front of the trainer would increase nigh time visibility for runners facing oncoming traffic, so he added reflective detailing to the forefoot, vamp and the tongue.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Air Max Plus TN trainer the original 1998 silhouette is now introduced in some OG colourways including Hyperblue, Sunset and Purple to finish off 2018 in classic Air Max style. The Nike Air Max Plus TN Hyperblue trainer will be launching from nike.com from Saturday 8th November 2018.
