Check Out The OFF-WHITE SS19 Pre-Collection ‘En Plein Air’
Vigil Ablob introduces his OFF-WHITE SS19 Pre-Collection with impressionist style painting prints and a nod to the great outdoors.
As we slowly pace towards the start of 2019 it’s time for us to get an overview of what we’re expecting to see in the coming seasons. As one of the most sought after brands, Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE has revealed its 2019 SS Pre-Collection. Dubbed “En Plein Air”, French for “outdoors”, the overarching concept of the collection is to showcase the beauty of OFF-WHITE’s unique fashion against a striking hillside backdrop.
The drop features a range of reworks of the brand’s staples, including shirts, jumpers, trousers and coats. Various shades of green are incorporated into the collection which perfectly complement the elements of nature, while military-inspired camouflage-patterned parkas and trousers also play key roles in capturing the essence of the forest, countryside vibes.
The denim pieces are as eye-catching as the rest of the collection. The tie-dye technique skillfully executed on the denim jacket and its extensive use of colours have obviously lifted up the mood, while the detailed paintings of riverside scenery on another jacket model and the jeans have also added depth to the collection’s concept.
Needless to say the drop does play on contrasting colours – bold pink zipped tosp, bright yellow trainers, nylon red check cap all clash with the undisturbed peace and calm in nature but at the same time visually harmonising with other pieces in En Plein Air. Not to mention the generous amount of brandings’ inscribed on a number of designs, such as belts, scarves and socks, which once again emphasises the bold character of OFF-WHITE.
