PUMA Team Up With Roland For Some TR-808 Inspired Trainers
The PUMA x Roland RS-0 trainer looks back to the 80s and an era of electronic music and drum machines.
If you know your electronic music you’ll know the significance Roland have played in pioneering different scenes from the early 80s. The Roland TR series allowed artists to create their own very genres, for example the TR-808 saw the likes of Afrika Bambaataa dropping some of the first ever hip hop tracks like ‘Planet Rock’ on the legendary drum machine. The legacy of the TR-808 followed on to other models like the Roland TR-909, which became the sound of the beat to the original Chicago and Acid House movements. In celebration of the Roland TR-808 drum machine, PUMA and Roland have joined forces for a TR-808 inspired RS trainer.
The PUMA RS (Original Running System) trainer was also born out of the 80s, in 1986 the German sportswear label introduced the RS-100 trainer. Using the latest damping technology the trainer was designed for running stability and comfort. For August 2018 the 80s runner is now brought back to life with black leather uppers alongside TR-808 inspired hues to the formstrip.
