RC Podcast: Riko Dan 12/11/2018

Luke Taylor

This weeks podcast has been hand selected by the London based Grime artist, NTS Radio Show host and Roll Deep member, Riko Dan.

Tell us more about your current Saturday morning show on NTS and how it all came about.

My show on Saturday mornings is called Verbal Volley. One day I had an idea of maybe hosting a radio talk show with music and football incorporated in it somehow. Basically it took off from there. Shout outs to Fergus and Femi and all the NTS staff for making it a reality.

Can we expect any more banging Boiler Room sets from you and Slimzee any time soon?

You can definitely expect some sets from Slim and I whether they’ll be Boiler Room sets I dunno. Saying that we could always arrange one.

When can we expect the next EP to drop and will there be a Roll Deep collab?

I was working on an EP but I’ve decided to release the songs individually and go back to working on my album which I started last year. I don’t really do features on my projects but a Roll Deep collaboration is definitely not out of the question!

You’ve been involved in the Grime scene for a long time now, what have you enjoyed the most so far as UK artist?

I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with people I’d probably be in beef with in any other capacity. Plus all the free stuff!
