Its been a pretty special year so far has 2018 for Nike Air Max Day releases, and this next one is already on the Air Max ‘in demand’ list thanks to a special collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon. An avid sneaker collector and also joint owner of Round Two Store based in Richmond, Virginia, USA, which sells highly collectible resale streetwear goods, Sean Wotherspoon won the ‘Vote Forward’ competition with Nike last year for his Nike Air Max 1/97 design. In celebration of Nike Air Max Day 2018 the prize design hybrid trainer will be released as part of the collection putting a brand new take on two classic silhouettes. The Nike Air Max 97 was released 10 years after the original Air Max 1 which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, with this latest design mixing the two.
The Nike Air Max 1/97 features the uppers of the Air Max 97 in colourful corduroy sat on top of the original Air Max 1 sole unit. Additional features include removable velour insoles, wave graphics to the tongue tab as well as a multi coloured outer sole.
