Luke Taylor

Stone Island introduce their first thermosenstive leather outerwear piece with the Dyneema Ice Jacket for AW18.

Stone Island introduce another Ice Jacket for AW18, this time however in collaboration with ECCO LEATHER® and the The Dyneema® Project. Avid Stoney fans will of course appreciate the history of the Italian sportswear label’s Ice Jacket concept, an ongoing series which sees colour changing capabilities with thermosenstive fabric technology. Last year we were treated to a check grid camo iteration of the Ice Jacket story with AW18 marking the first thermosensitive leather piece to highly celebrated ongoing series.

The latest Stone Island Ice Jacket features a leather fabric which is bonded to the lightweight Dyneema® composite non-woven fabric. The outer layer is treated with thermosensitive agents with pigment molecules micro encapsulated in resin that change colour when the temperature drops. The end result is some real Stone Island magic, putting their futuristic scientific spin on a classic leather jacket.
