Supreme Draw Inspiration from the Dutch Artist, Maurits Cornelis Escher
The Supreme M.C. Escher collection features original artwork from the intellectual Dutch artist.
May 2017 sees the New York streetwear authority, Supreme, looking to the works of Maurits Corenlis Escher, a graphic artist from the Netherlands. Known for the use of mathematical objects, hyperbolic geometry, reflection, symmetry and tessellations in his work. His travels of Europe shaped his concepts and ideas after staying in the likes of Italy when Mussolini and his fascists were gaining momentum and support in the country.
Utilising the original graphic art of shapes and mathematics from M.C. Escher, Supreme NYC have introduced a capsule collection featuring a trench coat, baseball jersey, twill shorts, hoodies, tees and a camp cap. The shapes and artwork have a kind of ‘new world order’ vibe with a geometric/mathematical twist. Each comes available in 4 colourway options including white, black, pink and blue.
The Supreme M.C. Escher collection will be launching this coming Thursday 4th May 2017 from supremenewyork.com. In other Supreme New York related news you can also check out the latest Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo trainer.
