The Supreme x AKIRA drop features original artwork from the Japanese manga series, fishtail parkas and ceramic plates.
The next instalment of highly sought after Supreme collaborations sees the New York streetwear brand teaming up with Katsuhiro Otomo with some original AKIRA artwork. AKIRA was a Japanese manga series which ran from 1982 to 1990 and told the story of a motorcycle gang in a post apocalyptic society of gang violence, government corruption and substance abuse.
The collection sees original artwork from the series printed across a range of apparel, skateboard decks, and in typical Supreme fashion a ceramic plate and tray adding to their already obscure line of accessories. On the apparel side there is the Supreme x AKIRA fishtail parka and work jacket both featuring woven patches and original print animations. Other apparel includes coveralls, a soccer top, hooded sweatshirts as well as ‘syringe’ and ‘pill’ graphic tees referencing the drug taking featured in the animated series.
The Supreme x AKIRA drop will be available from supremenewyork.com from Thursday 2nd November 2017 as well as their global flagship stores. In other Supreme related news you can also check out their latest Nike Air Humara collaboration.
