Check Out Mike Skinner’s Latest Track ‘Things You Need To Pattern’
The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light is Mike Skinner’s latest solo project.
Speak to anyone who was a garage head, house lover or hip hop fanatic from the early noughties and they will all share a common admiration for The Streets. Lyrics like ‘cult classic, not bestseller’ have gone down in urban music folklore along with the front man himself, Mike Skinner. As Mike stepped down from The Streets a good few years ago now he has embarked on a whole range of new projects from working with a new wave of grime talent like Jaykae as well as The D.O.T. and of course The Tonga Baloon Gang.
The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light which is solely Skinner himself, have now dropped a variety of tracks for August 2017. Ranging from grimier sounding beats to easy going hip hop and paired up with Skinner’s lyrics the sound is fresh and a new direction from the originals ‘Streets’ sound. New tracks for August 17′ include ‘Months That Begin on Sunday’ featuring Daniel OG, ‘Things You Need to Pattern’ and ‘Hold Me While I Hold This L’.
With its looping piano melody and Skinner’s lyrics talking about modern life issues ‘Thing You Need to Pattern’ is sure to get the OG’ Streets fans talking.
