Wiley, also known as the Godfather of Grime, heads to size? in Liverpool for a live performance as well as discussing the history of Grime
For the latest installment of size?sessions, which focuses on some of the top urban talent, Wiley headed to the size? Liverpool store, in the North West of the UK, for a very exclusive live performance. Alongside performances of ‘Call The Shots’ and ‘Can’t Go Wrong’, size? also sit down the with the London born Godfather of Grime discussing the history of Grime. The modern day Grime sound has taken a very different sound from the early noughties pirate radio days, although the raw energy is still there, Grime has now officially made its way over to the states, now fusing other genres such as Trap & American Rap.
Throughout his musical career of producing, MC’ing and writing tracks, Wileys sound has remained true to his Grime roots, although some songs have clearly had a more commercial appeal, albums like the Godfather from 2017 showed the UK what Grime is really all about. As the history of Grime evolves each year, its artists like Wiley that will always be remembered as a founding member and the Afrika Bambaataa equivalent of the original London Grime movement.
