The Y-3 AW17 drop features digital forest prints, cold weather tech jackets and modern sportswear.
Japanese inspired sportswear has been the key element ever since adidas tapped up Yohji Yamamoto for the exclusive Y-3 collection in the early noughties. Tokyo as a city is one of the most influential places on the global streetwear scene with an endless supply of sought after Japanese designs and styles. Sportswear has certainly changed a lot in recent years but its brands like Y-3 that kind of set the bar of what to expect when technology meets performance. This whole tech sportswear thing is what Y-3 have been doing for the last 15 years.
This latest collection from adidas and Yohji Yamamoto sticks to its guns with a range of premium sportswear, utilitarian outerwear and sneakers. Highlights on the footwear side include the Ayero which takes design inspiration from the ZX 800 trainer. The PUREBOOST and the Qasa High are also sure to be some of the most talked about sneakers from the range. On the apparel side its classic Y-3, clean with simple branding from tees to trackpants. Highlights include a digitally manipulated forest print, duck down jackets and nylon sports parkas.
