BMW has released a third teaser for the upcoming X2, which will most likely be the final one before the cute-ute makes its complete presentation tomorrow evening, Tuesday, October 10, U.S. time–early Wednesday morning in Germany.
Spy images and an unexpected X2 debut in the game Fortnite show the silhouette of a fastback roof designed to bring the X2 more in line with its X4 and X6 siblings, as well as a spoiler with a ducktail-like flip at the base of the hatch. The X2 M35i xDrive teaser depicts a vehicle that shares many design aspects with the X1 M35i xDrive, which debuted in June.
The powertrain should be the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 312 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque; Europe’s version will be slightly less powerful than ours because of various emissions standards and equipment. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends power to all four wheels.
Visitors attending Japan’s Tokyo Mobility Show this month may be the first to witness the X2. Along with the basic and M Performance trims, the battery-electric iX2 should be on display. After the public display, gamers can return to BMW’s virtual city Hypnopolis in Fortnite and experiment with the X2 in the Car Creator tool.
