The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept returns to the brand’s roots

Jeep Wagoneer S

For a brand so synonymous with off-road capability, it’s surprising that Jeep’s first all-electric vehicle would be the distinctly street-oriented and high-performance Wagoneer S Launch Edition. Jeep demonstrated at the Wagoneer S presentation that it still has off-roading in mind with its Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept, which appears to be a much more traditional Jeep.

Much of it is the identical Wagoneer S that we know today, however no specifications were provided. Likely, it’s not as powerful or as well-equipped with convenience features as the Launch Edition.

The steeper front and rear bumpers enhance approach and departure angles, and the Selec-Terrain traction system now includes a “Rock” option, which the Launch Edition does not have. It appears robust, with scratch-resistant black plastic trim along the fenders, bumpers, and rocker panels, as well as conspicuous red-orange tow hooks and a sophisticated aluminum roof rack. It also features “Desert-Rated” badging on the sides, similar to the Jeep Gladiator Mojave, indicating that Jeep believes the Wagoneer S Trailhawk can handle quick desert off-roading.

The cabin also receives an off-road makeover. This also includes threaded inserts, which allow owners to mount a variety of equipment. There are additional grab handles in the center console.

Jeep did not confirm whether the Trailhawk will go into production. It appears that the brand is searching for comments on whether consumers will buy it.
