Arun Ghosh, a 38-year-old from Niagara Falls, Ontario, has driven his 2014 Honda Accord one million kilometres. Originally a nurse in India, Arun moved to Canada in 2017 for studies at Niagara College.
Known for his deep love for driving, he calls himself “a person who is madly passionate about driving cars.”
Arun is now a delivery and rideshare operator and hopes to join the automobile industry in the future. On July 30, Arun set out with friends to reach his goal of one million kilometers, but his odometer froze at 999,999 kilometers.
He is now requesting Honda to provide a seven-digit odometer to continue his journey.
Despite high fuel consumption, he still loves his car and often helps fellow students by giving them lifts. Ghosh drives about 130,000 kilometers per year, far more than the average Canadian’s 20,000 kilometers.
Honda Canada praised Ghosh’s dedication, and the company’s spokesperson called his achievement “commendable.” Arun continues to drive his favorite car, showing no signs of giving up on his driving dream.
