Scientists have developed a mask that may diagnose the coronavirus within 10 minutes. The sensitive cover detects the virus within the air and notifies the mask wearer through an app on their phone. other than the coronavirus, the mask also has the power to diagnose influenza and bird flu.
These diseases are spread within the air by the kind of droplets emitted by infected people after they speak, cough, or sneeze. These delicate and invisible molecules stay within the air for a protracted time and folks get sick thanks to inhaling this air. Researchers in China tested the mask in a closed chamber where a liquid containing virus proteins was sprayed onto the show.
When only 0.3 microliters of liquid were splashed, the sensor alerted the wire. This number ranges from 70 to 560 times, although droplets are created by sneezing and even fewer droplets are produced by coughing or talking.
The sensor within the mask contains aptamers. it’s a sort of synthetic molecule which will target proteins present in pathogens. The aptamers within the masks scientists tested could diagnose Covid-19, swine influenza, and bird flu.
One of the study’s authors, Dr. Yin Feng, from Shanghai Tongji University, said that previous studies had shown that face masks reduce the spread of the disease. He said that we wanted to create a mask that warns of the presence of the virus within the air and warns the wearer of the show.
