Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem gifted Honda Civic with registration number 92.97

Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem was gifted a Honda Civic with a special plate and PKR 100 million by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for his record javelin throw.

Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s javelin gold medallist, was celebrated with extraordinary honors on August 13, 2024, in his hometown of Mian Channu.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Nadeem to present him with a brand-new Honda Civic featuring a special registration number, “PAK 92.97,” to commemorate his Olympic record throw of 92.97 meters. Alongside the car, Nadeem received a generous cheque worth PKR 100 million.

The visit included heartfelt gestures as Nawaz met with Nadeem’s family and praised his mother for her support.

This victory marked a significant achievement for Pakistan, as Nadeem became the first Pakistani to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics in 40 years.

Additionally, the government has announced further honors, including the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award and a commemorative stamp.

Nadeem’s success, which ended Pakistan’s 32-year Olympic medal drought, has been met with widespread celebrations, including a surprise gift of a Suzuki Alto from a Pakistani-American businessman and a buffalo from Nadeem’s father-in-law, reflecting his rural roots and traditions.
