Volvo Cars has announced that it will start delivering its long-awaited EX90 SUVs to customers before the end of this month.
This comes after significant delays due to issues with the vehicle’s new software, which pushed back the initial delivery schedule from early 2024.
The EX90, Volvo’s flagship fully electric SUV, is now being shipped to retailers in both the United States and Europe.
The company plans to ramp up deliveries and expand to additional markets throughout the fourth quarter of 2024 and into the first quarter of 2025.
CEO Jim Rowan has praised the EX90, describing it as the best car Volvo has ever made. He recently took the vehicle on a road trip across the U.S., highlighting its performance, comfort, and advanced technology.
The EX90 features cutting-edge tech, including a core computing system and lidar for enhanced safety, and is designed to improve with over-the-air updates.
Production for the EX90 began earlier this year at Volvo’s South Carolina plant, which has been upgraded to support this new era of electric vehicles.
