Automakers believe a day of total eclipse is ideal for blackout trim options. In addition to Jeep’s Gladiator “NightHawk” special edition, Ford will introduce the Black Appearance Package for the 2024 Bronco Raptor.
The core idea is similar: take a Bronco Raptor and add a bunch of black trim. It receives a gloss black painted top, roll bar, mirror caps, and fender flares. The steel bumper, tow hooks, and skid plate are painted matte black, and the unique black vinyl graphics complement the look. Ford supposedly got the idea for the painted skid plate after watching consumers paint their Broncos.
The package, however, only includes black accents. It does not receive any additional equipment, whereas the Jeep does. Granted, you cannot add much to a Bronco Raptor, but the Jeep is predicated on a low trim level. Still, at $4,995 for simply black paint and stickers, the Raptor’s Black Appearance Package feels pricey, especially given that the vehicle cost more than $90,000.
However, if you have the resources and the Raptor calls to you, you can buy it with the Black Appearance Package beginning this month.
