Apple Starts Assembling iPhone 14 in Brazil

A reader of the Brazilian site MacMagazine recently bought a blue 128GB iPhone 14 in Brazil and was astonished to discover that Foxconn Brazil, which is based in So Paulo, claimed the device was “Assembled in Brazil” on the box. The Part Number of the device concludes with “BR/A,” indicating that it was put together locally.

We were unable to locate any 14 Pro or 14 Plus products with the “BR/A” identifier, thus it appears that only the standard iPhone 14 is currently being built in Brazil. Chinese iPhone models marketed in Brazil are designated by the letters “BZ/A” or “BE/A.”

The process of Apple assembling iPhones in Brazil is not new. The business applied a similar strategy to iPhone 13 last year. The corporation concentrates on producing its less expensive smartphones in Brazil due to the local economic climate.

The vast majority of Apple products are subject to significant import tariffs in Brazil. Because of this, some businesses decide to invest in manufacturing their goods in Brazil. In Brazil, the 128GB iPhone 14 costs R$7,599. Customers may now find the same model, though, for about R$5,000 in neighborhood retail outlets.
