Acura is making waves at Monterey Car Week once again with a fresh teaser for an upcoming electric SUV concept. Following last year’s debut of the ZDX Type S, Acura is set to unveil a new model that promises to shake up the SUV segment.
The teaser image showcases the rear of the vehicle, highlighting its sporty coupe-SUV design. The SUV features a sleek, sloping roofline, full-width LED taillights, and an illuminated Acura badge, hinting at a dynamic and stylish profile.
This concept SUV will be the first Acura electric vehicle to use the brand’s new dedicated EV platform. It will also be assembled at Honda’s retooled manufacturing facility in Ohio, marking a significant step in Acura’s EV journey.
Although specifics about the SUV are still under wraps, it’s expected to offer a bold departure from traditional SUV designs, potentially rivaling models like the Tesla Model X or BMW X6. Acura describes the vehicle as “segment-defying,” indicating a design that breaks away from conventional norms.
The official reveal will take place during Monterey Car Week, running from August 9 to 18. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting new model and what it means for Acura’s future in the electric vehicle market.
