Lucid Motors is making waves in the electric vehicle market by announcing plans to introduce three new affordable EV models.
Currently recognized for its high-end Air sedan and the upcoming Gravity SUV, Lucid is now aiming to reach a wider audience with these new additions.
Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Design, Derek Jenkins, shared with CarBuzz that these new models will be part of the company’s “mid-size program.”
The first model, a mid-size electric SUV, is set to directly compete with Tesla’s Model Y. Additionally, a mass-market sedan will likely rival the Tesla Model 3, providing more budget-friendly options.
While details about the third model are still under wraps, Jenkins hinted that it could be a rugged, off-road capable EV.
This would expand Lucid’s lineup even further, potentially attracting adventurous buyers seeking performance and practicality.
The new vehicles are designed to be compact and efficient, maintaining Lucid’s focus on aerodynamics and lightweight construction.
Jenkins emphasized that while these models won’t match the Air’s speed, they will offer impressive value and performance.
As Lucid gears up to launch these affordable options, the automotive industry eagerly awaits how these models will compare to Tesla’s offerings and impact the growing EV market.
