Nintendo to Shut Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, New Offline Version on the Horizon

Nintendo Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Nintendo has announced it will shut down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on November 29, 2024, marking the end of a seven-year run for the mobile game. Players will be able to enjoy special events and new content until the service ends.

Following the shutdown, Nintendo will launch a new paid offline version of the game, which will not feature in-app purchases or subscriptions.

The new app will allow players to transfer their save data from Pocket Camp and maintain similar gameplay and controls.

However, features like Market Boxes, gifts, and interactions with other players will be removed. Leaf Tickets will also expire and cannot be transferred.

Nintendo’s decision to discontinue Pocket Camp comes as part of a broader strategy shift, focusing less on mobile games and more on their console offerings.

The new offline version aims to preserve the core experience for long-time fans. Pricing and additional details about the new app will be announced in October.
