Overstaying tourists on pre-paid or on-arrival visit visas will be fined a charge of 200 AED for the first day and 100 AED per day from the second day onwards. Any UAE citizen who overstays with an expired residency visa will be fined 125 AED on the first day and 25 AED per day after that.
The majority of UAE citizens and travelers pay their overstaying fees at airports, ports, and land boundaries in each of the seven Emirates. Any port of entry has well immigration officers and formalized procedures in place to collect overstaying fines to make the departure as smooth as possible.
If you want to settle any overstaying fees before you leave to help the departure process, go faster, you can do so at any of the nearest immigration offices, Amer offices, or typing centers. Visit visa holders who wish to prolong their stay must pay a fee of 100 AED per day of overstay (they are not allowed to pay a fee of 200 AED for the first day of overstay), while residence visa holders must pay a fee of 25 AED per day (not required to pay 125 AED for the first day of overstay).
