Windows 11 Preview Update Boosts Compatibility for ARM PCs with New Emulator

Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27744 brings exciting improvements for ARM-based PCs. This update features an upgraded Prism emulator, now compatible with key CPU extensions like AVX, AVX2, BMI, FMA, and F16C, allowing ARM devices to run more demanding x86 applications and games.

This includes popular titles such as Starfield and Helldivers 2, as well as professional software like *Adobe Premiere Pro 2025*.

The upgrade addresses a longstanding challenge for ARM devices, enhancing software compatibility and expanding the range of applications available to users.

The update also introduces a new on-screen gamepad keyboard, making navigation easier for gaming handhelds and touchscreen devices.

Additional improvements in Build 27744 include a new option to detach hard disks directly from the Settings app, refinements to Task Manager, and various minor bug fixes.

This update marks a significant step forward for Windows on ARM, opening doors for broader software support and smoother performance on devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus SoCs.

As Microsoft continues to enhance ARM compatibility, users can look forward to a richer experience with more apps and games on ARM-based Windows 11 PCs.
