2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is the third flash of Modena lightning

BMW M5 Upgrades Aim to Boost Appeal: What You Need to Know

The 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore completes Maserati’s initial trio of battery-electric choices, with the Atlantis High powertrain complementing the Nettuno V6-powered GranCabrio Trofeo, which Maserati unveiled in February. The GranCabrio Folgore is the first of its kind, establishing the six-figure, four-seat, battery-electric luxury grand tourer convertible niche until something like an electric Porsche 911, Mercedes-AMG SL, or revived Jaguar XKR arrives.

Built around the same 92.5-kWh T-shaped battery and three-motor drivetrain as the GranTurismo Folgore, the maximum output differs from the actual output: each motor produces 402 horsepower and 332 pound-feet torque. Maserati engineers decided to limit combined output to 751 horsepower and 996 pound-feet, with a catapult shot to 60 mph projected at 2.7 seconds.

Maserati provided an estimated WLTP range of up to 278 miles per charge, compared to an EPA-rated estimate of 250 miles for the aero options. Plugging into a 270 kW DC fast charger is estimated to recharge the battery from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes, adding 62 miles in five minutes.

The interior blends revived Maserati, and specific touches were made to the hardtop electric sister. It includes four digital screens, 18-way front seats in recycled Econyl or leather, 16-speaker Sonus Faber audio, and carbon fiber trim inlaid with copper filaments.

Order books open in August, and Maserati expects deliveries to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing is unknown, but given that the hardtop GranTurismo Folgore costs $210,000, expect something in the $225,000 level.
