Microsoft has launched Office 2024, a new version of its popular productivity software for Mac and PC users. This standalone release allows you to purchase the suite outright instead of paying for a subscription like Microsoft 365.
Office 2024 includes updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. However, unlike the subscription version, it won’t receive ongoing updates.
Mac users will enjoy several improvements, such as faster performance in Excel and customizable swipe gestures in Outlook for easier email management. PowerPoint now features “cameo,” letting you embed a live camera feed directly into your slides.
Additionally, both Word and PowerPoint allow users to react to comments in collaborative documents.
Office 2024 is available in two editions: Office Home 2024 for $149.99, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, and Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99, which adds Outlook and commercial use rights. Both editions are now available from various retailers and on the Microsoft website.
