Trump Vows 200% Tariffs on Mexican Cars Ahead of Election

Trump Pledges 200% Tariffs on Mexican Cars if Re-Elected

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he would impose tariffs of up to 200% on vehicles imported from Mexico if re-elected.

Speaking at a rally in Juneau, Wisconsin, Trump emphasized his protectionist stance, aiming to support the domestic auto industry by discouraging vehicle imports from Mexico.

This announcement marks a doubling of his previous pledge of 100% tariffs on imported cars and trucks.

Trump underscored his determination to protect American workers, stating, “We’re not going to let it happen. We’re not letting those cars come into the United States.”

With less than a month until the November 5 election, Trump is focused on key swing states, including Wisconsin, where polls show a close race between him and Democrat Kamala Harris.
