Apple held its exclusive artificial intelligence summit for staff members earlier this month in person at Steve Jobs Theater. Today, as the AI competition heats up, a piece from Bloomberg provides some information about what did happen on this occasion.
The “WWDC for AI” is Apple’s annual AI summit, which is only accessible to company personnel. This is a regular event for Apple, but this year it attracted greater attention because companies like Google and Microsoft revealed new ways they are utilising AI, in addition to ChatGPT’s ongoing development.
A brief summary of this year’s Apple employee-only AI summit was provided by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the most recent issue of his Power On newsletter. The head of Apple’s AI division reportedly told staff members that “machine learning is moving quicker than ever” and that the company’s talent is “really at the forefront.”
Notwithstanding this assertion, Gurman claims that Apple did not preview anything to compete with the new Bing or ChatGPT, nor is he aware of any consumer-facing “game changer” announcements.
