Ford sales increased in February, making the Dearborn-based carmaker the top seller in America for the second consecutive month. Ford also reported increased hybrid and EV sales, emphasizing the importance of its electrified powertrains.
Ford reported a 10.5% increase in February sales to 174,192 automobiles, exceeding Toyota’s total of 159,262.
Interestingly, hybrid sales increased 31.5% to slightly more than 12,000 units, driven by record sales of the Maverick hybrid compact truck and the Ford Escape small SUV hybrid.
Ford’s EV sales, which include the Mustang Mach-E crossover and F-150 Lightning pickup, increased 80.1% year on year in February to 6,368 units sold. Profound price reduction for the Mustang Mach-E and Lightning EV in February boosted sales.

Ford also reported F-Series pickup sales of 100,531 through February, saying it is America’s best-selling truck, outselling the Silverado by more than 21,000 units. He has started to increase sales of the 2024 vehicles, beginning with the entry-level XL and STX trims and gradually expanding to higher trim levels.
