A shocking incident unfolded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning when a Tesla Cybertruck burst into flames and exploded. The explosion killed one person, believed to be the driver, and injured seven others.
The Cybertruck, which had been rented via a car-sharing app, pulled into the hotel’s valet area emitting smoke before the blast occurred. Videos shared on social media show flames and debris erupting from the vehicle, causing chaos near the hotel entrance.
Authorities discovered gas canisters, fuel, and large fireworks in the truck’s cargo bed. While the exact cause remains unclear, FBI officials are investigating whether the explosion was accidental, criminal, or linked to terrorism. The incident came just hours after a deadly truck attack in New Orleans that claimed 15 lives, raising concerns of a possible connection.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the blast was unrelated to the Cybertruck’s functionality. “The explosion was caused by fireworks or a bomb in the truck’s bed,” he said.
The Trump hotel remains temporarily closed as investigations continue. Guests were relocated to nearby accommodations.
This tragic event has left many unanswered questions, and authorities are working to determine the motive and origin of the explosion.
