Toyota Land Cruiser sold out in Germany in 30 minutes

Land Cruiser 2024 Germany Sales

Toyota’s latest Land Cruiser model has caused quite a stir in Germany, with an astounding 1,000 units selling out within half an hour of their release. The new generation of this iconic SUV went on sale on December 21, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. local time. It was so demanding that Toyota Germany had to close orders shortly after they opened allocation for Germany.

This quick sell-out is one of the fastest single-day sales records, demonstrating the Land Cruiser’s enduring appeal. Three model variants were released in Germany: the Executive, the Tec, and the First Edition. It should be noted that Toyota previously announced a limited allocation of only 3,000 Land Cruiser First Edition units for the European market.

Following the exhaustion of the German allocation, deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024. However, there is some uncertainty due to Toyota’s current delivery halt to other countries. This pause is related to a scandal involving Daihatsu, a Toyota subsidiary, and the alleged manipulation of crash test results.

The 2024 Land Cruiser features cutting-edge design, architecture, and a powerful 2.8-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine. There are also plans for a hybrid engine variant.
