Updated Pro Display XDR is one of the New Monitors that Apple is Developing

According to the most recent information provided by Report, Apple is developing a number of new external monitors, including an updated model of the premium Pro Display XDR that was introduced alongside the Mac Pro in December 2019.

The new monitors will be powered by Apple silicon, just like the Studio Display uses an A13 Bionic chip, according to newsletter from today.

He did not provide any further information or a launch date for the monitors, but he did mention that the all-new Mac Pro is further along in the development process than the upgraded Pro Display XDR.

Uncertainty surrounds whether one of the new monitors would feature a modernized Studio Display. Ross Young, a consultant for the display industry, claimed in October that Apple intended to introduce a new monitor with a 27-inch mini-LED display in the first quarter of 2023. These specifications suggest that this monitor might be a new Studio Display with Promotion.

The Studio Display costs $1,599. It was released in March along with the Mac Studio. The display has a 12-megapixel Ultra-Wide camera and a 27-inch screen with 5K resolution. The more expensive Pro Display XDR has a 32-inch display with 6K resolution and starts at $4,999, but it lacks a camera.
