As expected, the Irish Data Protection Commission has fined Instagram €405 million due to the GDPR issue.
Third time in a row, a Meta company is being found due to the GDPR compliance issues. Meta company is the largest amount of money in terms of fines imposed on the company. Overall, it is the second largest. The record owned by Amazon is 746 Million euros.
The commission based in Ireland confirmed the fine but they are not willing to disclose the complete information.
According to the report, the fan and penalty are due to the company’s violation of children’s privacy by publishing children’s email addresses and phone numbers.
