iOS 16.5 breaks compatibility with Apple’s Lightning to USB 3 dongle

iOS 16.5 Breaks Lightning-to-USB 3 Dongle

Apple released iOS 16.5 with the new updates in wallpaper choices to Apple News. When these updates come out it breaks compatibility with Apple’s Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter accessory, for iPhone and iPad users.

The dongle connects through Lightning to iPhone or iPad and also has a built-in USB-A port that users can use to connect accessories with iPhone or iPad. According to users of this accessory iOS 16.5 breaks compatibility with both of the ports.

In posts on Apple’s Support forums noted that users called the Lightning and USB-A ports useless on this accessory after its updates to iOS 16.5. The Lightning port couldn’t pass the power  to charge the iPad or iPhone. USB-A also gives an error  when connecting an accessory to the adapter via USB-A shows an error message that the adapter requires too much power.

However, Apple support couldn’t help the affected customers. These problems are software-related given that it was tied to the release of iOS 16.5. Apple now needs to release iOS 16.5.1 in the near future to fix compatibility with the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
