The latest version, Pedometer++ 5, includes workout tracking for non-Apple Watch users and Live Activities support. The app now allows users without an Apple Watch to track their workouts and monitor metrics such as distance, speed, and duration while walking. This feature has been a staple for Apple Watch users, and it’s exciting to see it available to everyone.
Additionally, Pedometer++ now offers in-depth route management features with support for GPX routes for navigation. Users can import GPX routes from external sources or promote previously completed walks to save/favorite routes.
The Apple Watch version of Pedometer++ has also received a major upgrade with a new map-based workout mode. This mode displays a live map right on the watch while walking and supports the Action Button on the Apple Watch Ultra. The feature also integrates with the Always-On Display, providing users with quick access to directions and metrics.
Pedometer++ is fully integrated with Live Activities in iOS 16 and the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro. The app offers a variety of life activity styles that users can select, including a live updating map with the current route and location overlaid.
