Xiaomi’s first electric sedan, the SU7, has reached a remarkable milestone, delivering 130,000 units in China within nine months of its launch on March 28, 2023. Priced between 215,900 and 229,900 yuan ($29,600–$31,500), the SU7 gained immediate attention, securing 50,000 orders within just 27 minutes of its debut.
Despite initial production challenges, Xiaomi ramped up its manufacturing efforts, achieving a monthly production rate of 20,000 units by June. This accelerated pace enabled the company to exceed its adjusted annual delivery goal of 100,000 cars well ahead of schedule.
In its first month, Xiaomi delivered 10,000 SU7 vehicles. Over the next 198 days, an additional 90,000 units were delivered, and the remaining 30,000 were achieved in just 45 days, reaching the 130,000 milestone by December 28, 2023. December alone saw 16,328 units sold, highlighting the growing popularity of the SU7 in the competitive EV market.
Xiaomi marked the first anniversary of the SU7’s unveiling by announcing plans for a second-phase production facility in 2024 to meet rising demand. Additionally, two new models—the SU7 Ultra sedan and the YU7 crossover—are slated for launch in 2025, aiming to strengthen Xiaomi’s presence in the electric vehicle sector.
With its sporty design, impressive range of up to 830 km, and innovative features, the SU7 continues to captivate the Chinese market.
