iOS 16 Adds New Shazam Animation when Identifying Songs

iOS Shazam Animation

As BGR’s José Adorno pointed out on Twitter, iOS 16 includes a cool animation for the built-in Shazam feature. When a user asks Siri to identify a song, iOS now displays a card with an animated Shazam logo at the top of the screen.

Of course, this has no effect on how the feature works, which remains essentially unchanged. However, it does make the entire process more user-friendly, not to mention that it emphasizes Shazam’s brand. After iOS recognizes the song, its details are displayed on the card. You can open the Shazam app or an App Clip with more information about the song by tapping it.

Interestingly, the company could show Shazam animations on the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island, but this has yet to happen. Perhaps something similar will be included in iOS 17 later this year.
With iOS 16 and the new lock screen, Apple has also begun promoting artists by providing exclusive wallpapers via the Shazam app. The built-in Shazam integration in iOS 14 was converted into an App Clip.
