Several reports on social media claim that the outages have affected a number of services, including Apple Music, the Apple Support website, the App Store, TestFlight, the Apple Developer website, the Apple Store website, and others.
The reports were also combined by Down Detector, which shows that the majority of the complaints began to arrive immediately before 6 p.m. PT. Sometimes a website or app may finally load, but other times they will completely crash.
When consumers attempt to download or update any apps from the App Store, for instance, many of them encounter difficulties. Similar issues are showing up on Apple Music. The issues seem to be universally linked to SSL certificates, as demonstrated by Apple’s statement that “A secure connection to the server cannot be made due to an SSL error.”
Following a weeklong struggle with outages that affected the Weather app, Apple is again experiencing them today. Last week, a separate disruption caused outages for services like iMessage and iCloud Photos.
