From November 28 to December 8, this year, Apple claims that for each Apple Pay transaction made on Apple.com, in the Apple Store app, or at an Apple Store anywhere in the world, $1 will be donated to the Global Fund, a charity that saves lives. According to Apple, the maximum donation it will make under this program is $1 million.
The Global Fund works to fight diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis in developing nations. According to Apple, the organization will keep using its donations to “help fund critical health programs that save lives.”
Through its collaboration with the (RED) brand, which U2 singer Bono co-founded in 2006, Apple has supported The Global Fund for 17 years. Apple donates a portion of the sales of every product it sells to The Global Fund, including iPhones and Apple Watch bands. Apple offers a variety of products in the (PRODUCT)RED color.
On 1st December, which is World AIDS Day, Apple usually makes an announcement and launches initiatives related to (PRODUCT)RED.
