Exciting news for Nintendo fans! The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 is almost ready, with an expected launch date around March or April 2025.
This update comes from Rubén Mercado, CEO of Blade, a company that makes accessories for the console.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will come with magnetic Joy-Con controllers, which have a locking mechanism to connect more securely to the console.
The new design also includes two USB-C ports and changes to the analog sticks, which might even feature flat sticks or trackpads for better durability.
The next-gen Switch will have an 8-inch screen, making it larger than the original model.
Rumors also suggest that the new Switch could be backward compatible, meaning you could play your old Switch games on it. A recent firmware update hinted at a feature called “compat,” which supports this idea.
While the price isn’t confirmed yet, estimates suggest it could be between €400 and €500. Nintendo also aims for a global launch without the supply issues seen with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
