The Mitsubishi Mirage has officially been discontinued, ending an 11-year run in the U.S. market. Both the Mirage hatchback and the Mirage G4 sedan will not return for the 2025 model year.
As of now, the Nissan Versa is the only new car available in the U.S. priced under $20,000.
Mitsubishi has confirmed that production of the Mirage will end this year, but dealer inventories are expected to last into the summer of 2025. The Mirage, which was known for being among the most affordable new cars on the market, will be missed by budget-conscious buyers.
For the 2024 model year, the Mirage hatchback started at $18,015, and the Mirage G4 sedan began at $19,115.
Despite its low price, the Mirage was also one of the least powerful cars, featuring a 78-horsepower engine. The rise in popularity of SUVs and higher-priced vehicles has made it challenging for low-cost models like the Mirage to remain competitive.
